TRANSF0RM HOW YOU MOVE IN BJJ,
IN MINUTES PER WEEK,
EVEN WHEN YOU CAN'T MAKE CLASS!

Move fluidly around your opponent and develop intuitive reactions... to always stay one step ahead.

When you don’t have a training partner, the Gym Ball is the perfect training partner.

A Gym Ball.....is always ready to train, will throw you off in a heart beat, constantly keeps you off balance, never gets tired, can be used almost anywhere and moves unpredictability.

Any of these sound familiar??

  1. Told a thousand times “its all in the hips”.... but still don’t quite know what it means….
  2. Struggle to apply pressure through your hips
  3. Constantly get off balanced by your training partners and get swept easily
  4. Get rolled over easily
  5. Struggle to move fluidly and effortlessly around your opponent
  6. Feel like your balance and base isn’t good enough to execute some techniques
  7. You want to train more but don’t have enough time to get to class

Since discovering this method of training around 2010, it has been my #1 supplemental movement training for BJJ.

As a BJJ Black Belt Coach, Founder of BJJStrength.com and The BJJ Strength Podcast, my mission is to help you achieve your physical potential for BJJ.

I noticed real improvement in my game especially during scrambles and in my top game, especially side control and full mount.  I am moving smoother than before and able to defend against sweeps in a more efficient manner. I will continue to apply all of the movements in my practice at home.

I have to say that the gym ball has absolutely helped my movement on the mat, specifically with popping up to knee on belly and switching hips. In some ways it’s even more difficult than with an opponent. I’m planning on staying with it.

I was really surprise by all the exercises. I worked a lot with the ball in the pass but you impress me with the diversity. After I did the exercises I fell more balance, more grounded. I put my hips and my feet at more precise place. ( sorry if I make errors, I’m French Canadian 😁)

The program that BJJ strength has for the exercise ball was, and is very beneficial for me.  I have a very busy schedule with a toddler, school, and work, and all of the craziness life has with everything.  The exercise program allowed me to get an extra 2 to 4 sessions in per week that were BJJ specifically related.  As for my jiu jitsu, it really helped with my awareness on where my body's alignment and pressure is being forced. The greater awareness has shown significant improvements in my control over my opponent or training partners.

I have incorporated BJJ Strength’s gym ball program as part of my daily warmup routine before getting on the mats. It prepares me to move my body in a better way than traditional BJJ warmups. From a guard passing standpoint, I have developed a much better awareness of my body in space, giving me more confidence to enrich my floating pass game especially with respect to back stepping. For guard playing, many of the gym ball routines develop the core, which has been immensely helpful with my bottom game.

I found it very valuable. Something easy to do. Great bang for the buck. The other benefit is it’s not taking time away from drilling & rolling. Often when you want to do something like this, you’re asking your partner to take time from drilling/rolling which you’re usually paying +$100/month. Being able to do this at home is a great asset from time off the mat.
